I was just wondering how the first day went for people. Despite it being very hot in school it has been a good experience for me so far (yeah I realize its the first day). How did it go for everyone else?

Hi Katie
Sorry to hear you were so hot. I was very lucky. I am in a new school and they have air conditioning. My cooperating teacher is really nice and he has promised to show me the ropes. Hope all was well for everyone else.

My first day was lovely. I am actually working with a pretty cool teacher and some great kids. Oh, and I was lucky, the classroom that I was assigned to is air conditioned....Lucky Me! I wish all of you the best for the remainder of the summer and the school year ahead of us.

So how did everyone's 2nd day go? My second day was great too. I worked with Pre-school Autistic children and that was very interesting!

Hello Everyone, my first day was a little disorganized but once we got going it was great. Today was my last day at Vailsburg Middle School and I was a little sad to leave. Ms. Green is an excellent teacher. She has a lot of energy and great classroom management skills. I just hope the rest of my student teaching is as a pleasant experience as this week. We shall see. Take care and good luck next week.

Hi Everyone, Funny...I felt the same way. We were only at the first assigned school for 3 days, but you begin to get to know the staff and students and it is sad to leave. I was at the Samuel L. Berliner School for students with E/B Disorders, and I had a good experience. But I remind myself that the positive side to it is that we are experiencing different settings and populations, which hopefully will be helpful in our job placement. Good luck next week! Diane
