I spoke to Ms. Davis today and she said to go ahead and begin applying online for the Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification. But then when I go to do it there are there 3 choices.
1. Certificate of eligibility 2. " " with Advanced Standing 3. Standard
Does anyone know which one is right? I am also worried about this 1/2 salary thing. Any details for the Jersey City Cohort?

This is what I got from the Education website:
Certificate of eligibility
(a) A certificate of eligibility (CE) is a certificate with lifetime validity that the Board of Examiners may issue to candidates who meet degree, academic and applicable test requirements.
(b) A certificate of eligibility with advanced standing (CEAS) is a certificate with lifetime validity that the Board of Examiners may issue to candidates who meet degree, academic and test requirements and complete a State-approved college professional education preparation program.
(c) The CE or CEAS authorizes the holder to seek employment. A holder of a CE or CEAS shall not assume responsibility for a job assignment until the holder has been issued a provisional certificate.
I think it's separate for a CE is Special Ed. I am going to do more research and let you know. Also, I don't think you can apply until you finish the 6 credits?

I believe it is the CE for students with disabilities. I tried to apply on the TCIS website using my account info from the previous CE K-5 but it would not let me change the type of CE I want to apply for. I believe the code for Students with Disabilities is 2475. Has anyone else tried applying? Under Licensing you can go to certificates and endorsements and under Students with Disabilites it does state that we can apply for a CE if we have been accepted for employment and finished 6 credits in that subject area. There is also a $150 fee.

Good point. The 6 credits we have for Summer II would seem to apply. I was thinking of at least getting the app. process started now. I am a little lost about this part.
